We welcomed April Ackerley, who is a Paramedic, to our July meeting (13/7/26), enabling us to learn how ‘Bystanders can be Lifesavers’. A lovely informative evening, where we were shown how to do CPR, how to use a defibrillator & put someone in the recovery position. A few of our members had a practice on ‘Rupert’ (as we named him on the night). April was one of our founding members & was our previous President, always lovely to catch up with her.
Thanks of course to Clare Duffield who supplies & runs our raffle each month & to Jean Donald & Julia Campbell who were serving our refreshments this month.
We also started collecting toiletry donations for Silklife Foodbank - unfortunately we didn’t get much so we will collect again at our September meeting. No usual meeting in August as the school is closed for summer holidays.
