Our Christmas party was enjoyed by all - a lovely Christmassy Quiz, thanks to Julie Skelton our Quiz Master. Teams of 4 with Christmas themed names, thanks Pam. Platters of sandwiches, crisps & mince pies, fizz & Christmas crackers. Once again a fabulous raffle organised by Clare. Marlborough School Christmas Fair - Friday 5/12/25 We held a cake & Christmas goods stall - thank you to all our members who donated & to Chris, Elaine & Pam, who manned the stall. We made a grand total of £102 on the night - proceeds to our Birthday fund & a donation to the PTA of Marlborough. Thank you

Another lovely social evening at Periwinkle & Clay in Macclesfield, our members enjoyed making Christmas ornaments & decorations. Lots of chatting & laughter. Looking forward to seeing them all glazed.

Our November’s meeting (10/11/25) was our Annual Meeting & we also welcomed Sarah Parker from Bond St. Veterinary practice who gave us some very good advice regarding ‘Pet First Aid’. All our Committee have volunteered to stay on another year   Our refreshment ladies were Carole Clipson & Chris Stewart, thank you so much for your help at our meeting. Lovely Poppy themed Raffle provided by Clare Duffield.

The Autumn meeting of the Cheshire Peaks Group (15/10/25) was attended by over 20 of our members, who enjoyed an informative & insight into the history of style icon Mary Quant. Lucy from The History Wardrobe was very entertaining, demonstrating the clothing styles & accessories made famous by Mary Quant starting from the 1950s upto the present day. There was also a fabulous craft stall & the competition for this meeting was ‘anything Geometric/psychedelic design in any media

‘Let’s get creative’ was the theme for our October meeting on Monday (13/10/25) with our guest speaker Emma Crawley (Rooby Doo). Our members enjoyed a very relaxing evening tracing & colouring in to create a stained glass window effect of their chosen animal. As one of our members rightly stated that there is ‘Something very therapeutic about colouring’. So highly recommended. A glorious evening to do our ‘midnight walk’ starting at Marlborough School, walking along the Macclesfield canal & Middlewood way, raising funds for the ECH Bed Appeal. A few of us even visited the Brocklehurst Pub to round off the evening. A Really great social event enjoyed by all. Thanks to Valerie & Janet for leading the way  & all our members who have kindly donated.

Our September meeting (8/9/25) was a great welcome back after our August break for our members, we enjoyed James Ellson's very interesting talk on ‘The Trees & The Bees’ who is now a beekeeper & owns an apple orchard over in Hayfield, Derbyshire, producing up to 90 varieties of apple. Great day selling our cakes at Macclesfield Fire Station Open Day - thanks to all our members who volunteered their time and baked cakes & buns. We made a grand total of £136.80 which will be split between the Fire Station & the ECH Bed Appeal
