Medical Detection Dogs - Ruth Smith (12th May 2025)

We invited Ruth Smith from the charity Medical Detection Dogs to our May meeting (12/5/25). What a fantastic charity it is. They train their dogs to identify life threatening medical conditions in their owners & clients by the dog’s sense of smell. Our members really enjoyed Ruth’s talk so we would definitely recommend her talk to other WI groups. Thanks to Clare Duffield for her excellent raffle as usual, 2 of our members nearly took home all the prizes as their numbers kept being drawn, graciously they told us to ‘draw again’ giving the rest of our members a chance to win!!
